Zachary Merrick

Zachary Merrick of All Time Low

This is a digital painting of Zachary Merrick from All Time Low that I made for his 30th birthday, which was on April 21st. The bass that Zachary is playing is a custom-made Fender Precision Bass that Billy Siegle, artist relations manager at Fender, built for Zachary. I was inspired to create this band art piece of Zachary since I like All Time Low’s music.

This piece of band art captures Zachary Merrick’s image, especially with his tattoos that are very detailed. His tattoos include flowers, plants, and even on the side of his right forearm beneath the flowers, if you look closely, you can see a Fender Precision Bass intertwined with the leaves of the plants. His left arm is mostly covered in tattoos of stars and dots. The other detailed tattoos besides the stars and dots on his left arm are not clearly visible, especially due to the perspective of the photo. Other detailed areas in the picture include his facial features, the folds in his T-shirt and pants, along with the highlights and shadows on him and the Fender Precision Bass that he is playing. The reference image used for this digital painting was taken when All Time Low played in Las Vegas, Nevada at the iHeartRadio Daytime Village in September of 2017.
